He loved his "bath"! Didn't cry at all when water was poured on his head.
Alton kept busy for some of the time with a "quiet book," a handmade gift from his Nonna. Each page spread in the book has a different interesting task to keep little fingers busy: a pretend jacket to button open and closed, a zippered tent with Tigger sewn inside, a train with button wheels to count...it's a great big-boy "all by myself" activity with much love and thought put into it by Nonna! Indeed, the quiet book was so enthralling to Alton that he was asking for it to be read to him at bedtime, but since the book has very few words, we'd find ourselves improvising on each page, describing what it contained. We'll be showing this one off, for sure!
And although he spread his interest around, Alton's best bud was definitely Nonna. He was elated to share jobs with her, like going to get the mail...

sweeping the yard...

laying bricks...

...okay, I'm not positive he really helped with those last two.
With Alton's cold, he kept his distance from Baby Cousin *S, so I got plenty of snuggle time with the big little guy.

After delicious and decadent Easter meals, time with family, and a few taquitos for the road, we were just saying our goodbyes when Alton spotted some construction vehicles in a parking lot and ran to get a better view. Wham! He hit the pavement hard and garnered his first serious road rash.

Two badly-skinned little knees, complete with leg bruises, and the poor guy was sniffling and hiccuping through his pain for several minutes. Not even two Lightning McQueen bandaids procured for just such a potential accident could diminish his tears. He attributed his clothing to the trip 'n fall and kept begging me to put him in pants--ouch! We gave him a little Tylenol for the soreness and he fell asleep, exhausted, before we hit the freeway onramp one mile away. On to our next adventure....

AAAAAAhhhhh!Alton's fall was such a terrible way to end our days of fun together.I'm glad he's enjoying his book , though. It was so much fun to make knowing that he loves to READ.
Meh. Now he will never wear the outfit Aunt CiCi bought ever again.
