We arrived in mud-worthy boots and picture attire alike, because we planned to use the morning as a double-duty opportunity to get our Christmas tree and to take some family photos for our holiday cards. As we looked around for a suitable fir, Alton was amiable enough to stand still for a few photos...
...and run around or pick up handfuls of dirt and needles for a few others.
We found our tree and got it loaded in the truck. (Our infamous 8' noble fir with a $20 price tag! Love Oregon.)
Then it was time to head up the hillside to the groves of trees, where Uncle Zach was waiting to play photographer for our family pictures.
We took a turn snapping some pictures of Zach, Karen, and *P, then the two kiddos got a chance to giggle and clown around.
During our sunny photo session, Alton spotted the little crawler tractor that was hauling a wagonload of people up and down the roadway to the various parts of the farm, and was so taken with it that we headed over for a ride, even though our tree was already purchased.
The self-portrait.
When the tractor parked at a little shed, we tried for one more quick photo op, something a little more unusual with Alton against a stark wooden wall for backdrop.
Alton shows you what he thinks of us trying to be artistic.

Alton is just testing the temperature with his tongue. We had a great, great visit to Oregon. It's hard to type with this giant black dog (Molson Rhyne) nosing in for attention. Thanks to AKA for putting up with the other black dog for a week, by the way. Mr. Alton grows/changes always, and is always a treat to be around. One day, there will be a third house of Rhynes up there, and we can add to the visitor accommodations and spend more time out Oregon-ing.
The cousins could not be more different, and more together at the same time, thanks to all of you.
