Alton Calendar 2010

After driving 10 hours down to Sacramento, 5 hours from Santa Maria back to Sacramento, and 10 hours (yesterday) from Sac to get back home, my back has registered an official protest and I need to take a rest for awhile. So while I will be penning tales of our Christmas travels in my head, the post about where we've been and what we've been doing might take a little while longer. In the meantime, we'd love to share pictures from one of the gifts that we gave out. Last year was the first year that we had the idea to do a wall calendar with a photo of Alton for each month of the year. The photos were all styled, staged, and taken by Andy and me, and we tried to select backdrops and clothing that went with the weather or holidays of each month. We really enjoyed taking the photos and seeing the calendar unfold page by page, and we shared the fruits of our labor with you on the blog, see here. The calendars were such a hit with our families as gifts that we decided to do the same thing again this year, and of course followed the same pattern and didn't start snapping pictures until October! Brrrr. Luckily we had a few good ones in the hopper already from slightly warmer months (see April, June, and August), but otherwise we got creative with sunny days, indoor photo shoots, and in the case of December, the one professional photo in the bunch. Otherwise, the pictures were just taken with our camera in or around our house and nearby neighborhoods (those are leaves on the ground for the February pic!), and we hope you enjoy the cameos from Pooh Bear and Minerva.

It's a tough call, but my favorite is probably George Gershwin Rhyne, followed by Casey Jones Rhyne.
