Pre-Easter Playtime

Of course! Easter weekend it's pelting down rain, and now more than a week later we've got gorgeous sunny spring weather that at times borders on hot. The morning before Easter, with Grammy and Grandpa's arrival from the airport scheduled for later that night, we went to visit our friends the Lees and attend a community egg hunt. We kept our eyes on grey skies and raindrops while we munched on brunch food, but the rainfall never let up, so instead of the egg hunt we let the kids pull toy after toy out of the playchest and spread them all around the living room.
Here's our zany cast of characters, starring:
*B

*F

and Alton!

Alton makes a beeline for the box of toys. (Note that his feet aren't touching the floor!)

Vet clinic time: let's help some sick puppies.

Stick-horse in hand, Alton shows *F the mule that resides next door.

*F says that he knows what a mule is!

Things got a little wacky...

Alton decides to see how the other half lives and plays with some "girl" toys. Cradling the baby...

carefully brushing Barbie's hair...

aaaand poppin' wheelies with the pink stroller. Looks like he's his father's son, all right.

And my favorite pictures of all from that day: Alton and *B at the piano. Can't you just hear them playing "Heart & Soul"?

"Heart & soul...I fell in love with you heart & soul...the way a fool would do...gladly." Da dum da dum da dum da dum da dum da dum dum.

If you're going to push a stroller around, do so in STYLE!

And that first picture of AJ is totally his "Blue Steel" look.

I agree the piano duet picture is priceless. Too bad no one took a picture of Coleen and I when we used to play a duet. I believe we did one in a recital.
